As a DSP Firmware Engineer, you will work on industry-leading signal processing applications and help enable leading consumer electronics OEMs to deliver the best possible experiences to the end-user. Cirrus Logic provides innovative products for the world’s top smartphones, tablets, digital headsets, wearables, and emerging applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead system definition, firmware implementation, and unit/integration testing
• Implement complex digital signal processing systems for mobile and consumer products
• Convert algorithms in embedded C/C++ to/from MATLAB
• Be responsible for software architecture decisions
• Assure quality via CI/CD and assist in test and automation thereof
• Develop high-quality technical collateral for these designs including documentation

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or closely related discipline with 5+ years of experience in DSP firmware development
• Experience developing firmware for a variety of digital signal processing applications
• Expertise in fixed-point DSP algorithm implementation and resource estimation
• Expertise in embedded C programming and knowledge of assembly and optimization
• Proficient in MATLAB and signal processing concepts
• Be a self-starter, outstanding teammate and highly motivated
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Understanding of software quality assurance and related methodologies

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with FPGA emulation and testing for firmware
• Familiarity with the silicon development cycle
• Familiarity with industry standard control/data communication interfaces
• Familiarity with use of laboratory and bench test equipment
• Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems
• Past experience in leading projects or/and mentoring junior engineers
